Everything You Need to Know Before Booking (FAQ)

What age should I start training my puppy?

As early as 8 weeks. The first 6 months are the most critical development window for your puppy. The earlier you start, the easier it is to build good habits before bad ones take hold. There's no such thing as "too early" for puppy training.

What's the difference between puppy board and train and private sessions?

With board and train, your puppy stays with us for 2-4 weeks and comes home with foundations already built. Private sessions are weekly one-on-one lessons where you and your trainer work together with your puppy. Board and train is faster and more intensive. Private sessions are great if you want to be hands-on throughout the process. Not sure which is right? That's what the free evaluation is for.

Where does my puppy stay during board and train?

Your puppy stays in our home, not a kennel, not a facility. They live with us, eat with us, and learn how to be a well-behaved dog in a real home environment. This is exactly why the training transfers back to your house. You'll receive daily photo and video updates so you always know how your puppy is doing.

My puppy hasn't finished all their vaccinations. Can they still start training?

Yes. We can begin training puppies who have had at least their second round of vaccinations. We'll discuss your puppy's specific vaccination status during the evaluation and make sure everything is safe before they start. The socialization window is too important to miss waiting until all shots are done can mean missing the most critical learning period.

Will you send me updates while my puppy is with you?

Yes. Daily photos and videos showing your puppy's progress. We know how hard it is to be away from your puppy. Our updates give you peace of mind and let you see the transformation happening in real time.

My puppy bites everything. Is that normal?

Completely normal. Puppies explore the world with their mouths. But it needs to be addressed now before it becomes a serious problem as your dog grows. Bite inhibition is one of the first things we work on in every puppy program.

My puppy won't stop having accidents in the house. Can you help?

Yes. House training and crate training are core parts of every puppy program. We'll build a structure and routine that teaches your puppy where and when to go, and show you how to maintain it at home.

What happens after my puppy finishes the program?

Your puppy graduates with solid foundations but training doesn't stop at 6 months. When your puppy is ready, they can move into our off-leash training program to take their obedience to the next level. Most puppy foundations graduates are perfect candidates for Off-Leash Freedom at 6+ months. Plus, lifetime support means you can reach out anytime.
